Prior to the Apple iPod Nano commercial airing, "1234" was selling 2,000 downloads per week. Following the commercial, the song passed 73,000 total downloads and reached No. 7 on Hot Digital Songs and No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100!

ENYA - AND WINTER CAME!

OMG! How exciting!!!!

Enya is releasing a new album!!!!



The album (Enya's seventh studio album), And Winter Came is released November 10th, the first single to be taken from the album is to be Trains and Winter Rains.

Although the album had started out as a Christmas project as it began to take shape a broader seasonal theme soon became apparent. "I always wanted to do a Christmas album" explains Enya "but as we began recording I didn't feel it was right to impose a Christmas theme on certain songs." There is a new version of "Oiche Chiuin" (Silent Night) on the album. Nicky Ryan describes the new rendering as 'a choir of one'. "This is something I have wanted to do since Watermark" says Nicky "In fact I had wanted to call Watermark "A choir of one." I'm really happy that we have achieved the "choir" with "Oiche Chiuin (chorale)".

Wow! Noah and the Whale, where did they come from?

Noah and the Whale are a London based band consisting of Charlie (vocals, guitar), Doug (drums), Tom (fiddle), and Urby (bass), and after a handful of singles, released their first album, Peaceful The World Lays Me Down in August 2008.

They've got a really unique sound, it's not exactly plastic pop but we love it!

Confirmed news from Britney's label: the single's called 'Womanizer' and the album's called 'Circus'. The album's out in the UK on December 1st.

'Womanizer' is produced by The Outsyders; other people working on the album include Dr Luke, Danja, Max Martin, Bloodyshy & Avant and Guy Sigsworth.

Popplastic - Other reports suggest it might be released on December 2nd, her 27th birthday!

Popplastic would like to thank everyone who joined our campaign to stop Cliff and Woolworths (The Axis of Evil) from manipulating the Top 40 and pushing his latest offering to Number 1. If Cliff had succeded he would have fullfilled his ambition to have a number 1 in all of the last six decades. However mid week download figures revealed Cliff had only achieved around 50 downloads!

Thanks to everyone's efforts Cliff only made it to Number 3. Popplastic's exclusive photograph taken just after the charts aired on Radio 1 clearly reveal Cliff's revulsion on hearing the news. Last week he claimed, "Nothing can stop me now". Cliff obviously hadn't reckoned on the power of the people. Heart warming stories have hit the headlines of children combining their pocket money to buy copies of the latest Kings Of Leon CD, pensioners spending their bingo winnings on thousands of downloads of the new Pussycat Dolls single, even Gordon Brown found the time to nip out in the middle of a political crisis and buy a copy of Kate Perry's I Kissed a Girl.

Cliff Richard and Woolworths are plotting to get Cliffs new single to Number 1!

Woolworths are dropping out of the CD singles market and have decided to join Forces with Cliff Richard (The Axis of Evil) in an attempt to get his new single to Number 1 and go out with a bang. In doing so they would have aided Cliff in his mission to have a number 1 in every decade for the last 60 years. Cliff has had number 1's in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Try as he might a number 1 selling record has eluded the Peter Pan of pop in the noughties (isn't that because they're all shite).

Commenting on his chart success, Cliff on GMTV recently said "no one can catch me now". What modesty!

Needless to say we will not be including a clip of Cliff's new musical offering!

Instead we thought we'd have Westlife's Seasons The Sun. Not just because it's a great song but also because this is the song which stopped Cliff's Millennium Prayer from reaching Number 1. A service for which the boys from Westlife were collectively awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Mother Teresa had been in the running that year but when she heard what the boys had achieved she stepped out of the race for the prestigious award claiming "it's a miracle".

The Bill star Louisa Lytton and professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing regular Vincent Simone are representing the UK, hoping to steal the title from reigning champions Finland.

The countries competing are Austria, newcomers Azerbaijan, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and, of course, the United Kingdom.

The show will be presented by Graham Norton and Claudia Winkleman, with commentary from Strictly judges Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood.
