The first euro-travesty of the season!

Malta has selected Morena's Vodka to send to Belgrade for Eurovision 2008 and in the words of Catherine Tate's Nan - "What a load of old shit!"

and here's the offending article, what a F***ing liberty!

Morena - VODKA

The travesty being that they could have sent this . . .

Claudia Faniello - CARAVAGGIO

Come on Malta, it even featured a harpsichord!

What on earth happened, must have been a fix!

To add insult to injury Malta has a poptastic back catalogue of Eurovision hits, here's some of our favourites . . .

On Again, Off Again - Julie and Ludwig (Eurovision 2004)

a kind of Disney meets Westend musical song.

Chiara - Angel (Eurovision 2005)

loving that side to side head thing she does!

Chiara - The one that I love (Eurovision 1998)

She's obviously a, if at first you don't succeed try and try again kinda of a girl.

VODKA - Shame on you Malta . . .

So THAT's why you were looking so perturbed when Vodka came on!

What happened? Hehe... Two things actually:

1. Malta is trying to find the magical formula to try and finally win the Eurovision for once. Current voting system makes it impossible anyway (neighbour voting syndrome).
2. The "artiste" reigns from the Maltese island of Gozo and since televoting was done in Malta, the whole population of Gozo is said to have voted for Morena. Probably on the same level of stupidity as neighbour voting syndrome.
