The song's by the amazing Scottish singer/songwriter Any Macdonald (no relative of the MacDonald Brothers). This is the Life is taken from her incredible No.1 selling debut album by the same title. The album also includes, Run,Mr Rock & Roll,L.A. and Poison Prince.
Getter Jaani represents Estonia this year with "Rockefeller Street". The song was composed by Sven Lõhmus, who also wrote the Estonian entries in 2005 and 2009.
It's a great upbeat song and an instant hitter and Estonia's best chance of regaining the title for years,
Here's the Estonian entry...
Estonia - "Rockefeller Street" - Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Ireland's critical financial situation can only be explained by the fact that they must have blown their entire IMF loan on this years Eurovision entry! This year the one and only Jedward will be representing the Emerald Isle.
OK, they can't sing and the song will never be listed among the classics of Eurovision, but you've just got to love it and it must stand a chance of doing really well (or really badly), but we love it!!!
Here's the song...
Ireland - "Lipstick" - Eurovision Song Contest 2011
As usual (well almost) Sweden have come up trumps with their Eurovision entry. Eric Saade represents the home of Ikea this year with his high energy track, Popular. A song that wastes no time in getting to the point. Popplastic are confident Eric's going to put Sweden back where they belong and restore their reputation as Eurovision royalty!

Sweden - "Popular" - Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Eric Saade also attempted to represent Sweden last year with his amazing song Manboy, how is wasn't selected will remain one of Eurovision's greatest unanswered question.
We've just seen the Nissan Juke advert - what a beautiful song! Who cares about the car, love the song.

Hungary have come up with a Eurovision classic for Dusseldorf 2011, a powerful and instant hitter bound to come top 3 later this month. Kati Wolf, who became popular through the Hungarian version of X Factor, will sing What About My Dreams, an 80's inspired pop-song.

Eurovision 2011 is almost upon us, with the big final in a little over a week. What better time to begin our countdown of Popplastic favourites in this year's contest.
BUT before we begin, let's start with the Popplastic highlight of Eurovision 2010...
The Interval Act!
EUROVISION 2010 FINAL - MADCON - GLOW - INTERVAL ACT
Probably the greatest moment of Eurovision history!!!
The boys seemed confident that the track could do well, saying, "The feeling of support for the UK currently is amazing. When we've travelled round Europe promoting Eurovision there is a really good feeling for us Brits out there.
Just seen the advert for the ITV Perspectives series featuring Andrew Lloyd Webber. The backing track is an amazing almost haunting piece of music.

And if like me you keep wanting to hear it again and again, just add replay in front of the youtube.com in the url to replay the song (over and over again). It really works!
Here's a bit more about the band: Atmospheric English indie pop group the xx formed in London in 2008 around the talents of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim, Baria Qureshi, and Jamie Smith, when the bandmembers were still in high school. Captivating and cool, the group cites influences that run the gamut from R&B (Aaliyah and Rihanna) to classic alternative rock (the Cure and the Pixies). Built around the duel vocals of Croft and Sim, the group's signature brand of moody, soulful indie rock first appeared on the public radar in early 2009 with the single "Crystalised," which created a huge buzz among critics and fans alike. The xx released their self-titled debut LP in July of that year in the U.K.; it was released in the U.S. the following month. Late that year, Qureshi was no longer part of the group; the rest of the xx released a statement via NME saying this was due to "personal differences." During 2010, the live dates only continued, including spots at several high-profile summer festivals, and in September, their album won Britain's coveted Mercury Prize. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
