ELBOW - ONE DAY LIKE THIS

OMG!!! THE SHAME OF IT!!!!

10 Hail Mary's for Popplastic!

We have a confession to make!

Popplastic have spent the afternoon in the confessional box, we were hoping we'd be confessing to the late Father Kieron from Hollyoaks (God rest his soul) but we reckon it was more likely to have been Dr Fox.

Our sin, one of the greatest, liking credible music!

We recently stumbled across One Day Like This by Elbow and just couldn't get enough of it, it's, it's fabulous! But oh so wrong!

Anyway after our afternoon in the confession box we were told to go, never listen to it again and to do 10 Hail Mary's, so we left and had 10 Bloody Mary's instead, we're confident it'll have the same redeeming qualities.

Anyway here's the offending article...

Elbow - One Day Like This

Didn't Elbow win the Mercury music award last year? I'm sure they did.

It's the start of a slippery slope, soon we'll be posting Metallica songs...

THE SATURDAYS - WORK!

We are reliably informed (by PopMaximus) that Work is to be the latest single to be released from The Saturdays album, it's fab!

Here it is...

The Saturdays - Work

It's another great song from those Saturday Girls, not quite as good as Up! but Up! was probably one the best pop songs EVER!!!

Check out the album below...

Check out The Saturdays official site here.

We'd forgotten just how amazing Up! was . . .

BARCLAYCARD ADVERT!

We loved the recent Barclaycard contactless card ad but for some reason never assumed it was a real song, but it is!!!

Here's the ad...

Barclaycard Waterslide Advert

The ad features Let Your Love Flow by the Bellamy Brothers, it even made it to number 1!

Here's the song...

Bellamy Brothers - Let Your Love Flow

It's a bit 5,6,7,8, line dancey, straw on the floor but we love it!!!

The Bellamy Brothers are an American pop and country music duo composed of brothers David Milton Bellamy and Homer Howard Bellamy both from Florida. Let Your Love Flow made it to Number 1 on the Billboard 100 back in 1976.

JADE EWEN - MY TIME, THE VIDEO!

Here's the official video for the Jade Ewen's UK entry for Eurovision 2009!

Jade Ewen: My Time

and if you feel like singing along here's the lyrics...

I've been down, down so long
But those days are gone now
I've got the will, I've earned the right
To show you it's my time tonight

It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now

I'll break through, I've made my move
And my faith is strong now
I've got the heart to reach the heights
To show you it's my time tonight

It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now

I've got the will, I've earned the right
Tonight, tonight

It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now

I'll show you all it's my time now

PRISCILLA THE MUSICAL!!!!

The best 3 hours of 2009 to date...

Popplastic's top recommendation for 2009 is Priscilla The Musical, we can't think of a more enjoyable way to spend three hours in London.

Priscilla the Musical is awesome!!! A fantastic production with an amazing soundtrack!!!!

The soundtrack is different from the original movie, references to ABBA are replaced by Kylie, but even without ABBA it still leaves you singing along and tapping your feet to the music.

Here's some of the shows highlights...

Priscilla The Musical

Here's some of our favourite songs from the show...

Alicia Bridges - I Love The Nightlife

The Village People - Go West

LEON JACKSON DROPPED!

Dark days for pop!

Leon Jackson has been officially dropped by his record label.

The 2007 X Factor winner, whose debut album Right Now failed to make it to No 1 last year was dropped by his label Sony this week.

Polplastic's favourite X-Factor winner was quoted as saying he had "a great year and learned so much". "Every artist knows these things can go either way," he added.

The Sun claimed X Factor judge Simon Cowell didn't think Leon should've beaten runner-up Rhydian Roberts.

Well, Popplastic think that perhaps Simon Cowell should have promoted Leon's fantastic album! We loved it!!!

Here's Leon's amazing Stargazing...

We're not even sure if Cowell bothered to release it.
