NEWTON - SKY HIGH!

OMG "Laineypop" you are the Queen of Pop!

What a top Pop tip!

LaineyPop you've blown it all Sky High with this, it's amazing!

Newton's Sky High was brought to you directly from Popplastics very own correspondent direct from the Province - LaineyPop (Chucky-are-newton).

Newton - Sky High

We think it got a bit of the "rhythm is a dancer" about it.

Here's more from Newton....

Newton - Sometimes When We Touch

Newton, you make us feel sky high . . .

MISS POTTER

Whilst hunting for the latest episode of Marple on Sunday night Popplastic stumbled upon the closing credits of BBC1's Miss Potter and we were immediately entranced by the music. After a quick google we discovered it was, When You Taught Me How To Dance by Katie Melua. It was so good we just had to share it...

When You Taught Me How To Dance - Katie Melua

BTW Marple, there will only ever be one Miss Marple . . .

ANDY BINNED!

Hallelujah!!!

All praise the Gods of Pop, our prayers have been answered, Andy Abraham has given up his pop career (did he have one!) to concentrate on a new life as a property developer.

We would normally celebrate with a fab track at this point but there weren't any, so we'll make do with Eurovision's "Even If" . . .

Andy Abraham - Even If

The world of pop will never be the same again, YAH!!!

SONY ERICSSON AD!

We've just seen the latest Sony Ericsson ad, we love it!

Another adtastic track....

Sony Ericsson - Summer Pictures

Apparently it's by the Kinks, not exactly Popplastic regulars!

The Kinks - People Take Pictures Of Each Other

Here's another poptastic Sony ad with a fab tune!

POWER TO KATIE PRICE!

We at Popplastic are voicing our support for katie Price!

Katie Price was excluded from the Cartier International Polo event last weekend. More than 35,000 people attended the event but Katie was told she was unwelcome.

Katie described her exclusion from the Polo event as “pure snobbery”. In a blog Price said: "So the Cartier Polo International was happy to invite a man convicted of assault on an elderly couple, dozens of aristocrats and an assortment of would-be actresses in minuscule dresses. But it wouldn't have me." She said: "Unless you're a toff or a wannabe actress, organisers don't want to know."

Katie, we couldn't agree with you more and are proud to support you!

Lets have a bit of Katie and Peter . . .

Katie & Peter - A Whole New World

Katie we love you . . .

BEIJING OLYMPIC THEME MUSIC!

Ooooo we've just come across the official Beijing 2008 Olympic theme music! Not quite what we expected but we kinda like it. It's even got a sing-a-long video, with words!

Beijing Olympics 2008 , Theme Song - Friends Forever

We think it's got a bit of the Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence about it!

Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence

Here's our suggestion for the UK's 2012 theme . . .

E.ON - SEE IT & SAVE IT AD!

What a great ad!

Popplastic haven't featured an ad for some time!

When we say ad, what we mean is an ad with a great soundtrack. E.on's recent See it and Save it advert is one of those very ad's. The advert features Broadcast 2000's fabulous single Get Up and Go.

Here's the ad...

CARLA BRUNI

During a moment of sheer boredom we thought we'd check out the new and much publicized Carla Bruni album, Comme Si De Rien N'etait. We weren't expecting very much so were particularly surprised when we heard a few clips, it's great, L'Amoureuse being one of our favourites! So it's off to Tesco for a bit of, "Excuses-moi, je voudrais Comme Si De Rien N'etait s'il vous plait!

Will Sarah Brown be the next First Lady to spend some time in the mixing studios. . .

LEON JACKSON - THE ALBUM!

Leon Jackson album news is beginning to leak out!

Leon Jackson wants his debut album to be produced in a Paulo Nutini style.

Leon says he wasn’t allowed to sing Paulo Nutini songs on the show for fear of stereotyping him as another Scottish singer.

Leon said: “I always used to sing Paulo Nutini songs at karaoke and that’s the kind of style I’d like to record on my album. “Something like Paulo, and a bit James Morrison, is what I’m aiming for.”

Time for a bit more When You Believe . . .

Leon Jackson - When You Believe

Expect the album around October/November . . .

KYLIE - THE ONE!

Kylie we take it all back, we're sorry!

HAMFATTER!

Rock group Hamfatter featured recently on BBC2's Dragons Den. The group were offering a stake in future revenues for a load of cash! They have already had a 2 or 3 albums and even notched up a Number 2 in Austria. Popplastic didn't offer the group a deal but we thought they were kinda catchy....

ESTELLE GETTY - A TRIBUTE

Flags at half mast!

Popplastic are in mourning, our favourite Golden Girl has popped her clogs. Yes the Emmy-winning actress Estelle Getty, best known as a wise-cracking octogenarian (Sophia) on the popular 1980s and '90s sitcom "The Golden Girls," died on Tuesday. She was 84.

Not only was the Golden Girls fabulous because of Sophia but it also had an amazing soundtrack, Thank you For Being A Friend....

BEFOUR!

It's all been a bit credible of late so it's with a great sense of relief that we return to the world proper pop!

BeFour are the most exciting thing to have happened at Popplastic Towers since Leon Jackson won X-Factor in 2007. BeFour are a German reality TV show pop group, the "Four" member are, Dan, Alina, Manou and Angel. The groups first single "Magic Melody" was a cover version of the song "Around The World" by ATC, and we just can't get enough of it!

beFour - Magic Melody

and if that wasn't enough here's their album medley . . .

BeFour - Album Medley

Check out the words in How Do You Do . . . "how do you do, you like me and I like you"....... inspired!

TEXAS!

All hail the Gods of Pop, Sharleen (Texas) Spiteri's back with a new single and a solo career!

All the Times I Cried is a fantastic 60's inspired single with a splattering of her old Texas sound. It's absolutely fabulous and scores five golden Popplastic disks (the maximum).

SHARLEEN SPITERI - ALL THE TIMES I CRIED (LIVE)

If you liked that you'll love this . . .

EURO 2008!

At Popplastic we don't do football and we certainly don't do Euro (Remote Control at the ready) 2008, but we do do ITV's opening title sequence music for Euro 2008!

Natasha Marsh, who is currently signed to EMI Music, was chosen by ITV Sport to be the voice of their Euro 2008 opening title sequence. She made a special recording of the Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.

ITV Euro 2008 Title Sequence

The same music also popped up in the 1989 Melodifestivalen favourite Nattens drottning, (Haakon Pedersen & Elisabeth Berg).
