Rock group Hamfatter featured recently on BBC2's Dragons Den. The group were offering a stake in future revenues for a load of cash! They have already had a 2 or 3 albums and even notched up a Number 2 in Austria. Popplastic didn't offer the group a deal but we thought they were kinda catchy....
Popplastic are in mourning, our favourite Golden Girl has popped her clogs. Yes the Emmy-winning actress Estelle Getty, best known as a wise-cracking octogenarian (Sophia) on the popular 1980s and '90s sitcom "The Golden Girls," died on Tuesday. She was 84.
Not only was the Golden Girls fabulous because of Sophia but it also had an amazing soundtrack, Thank you For Being A Friend....
Well we say interview, it went something like this...
Popplastic standing in Taxi rank outside central Edinburgh hotel, silver Mercedes pulls up, G'loud get out of taxi. Interview goes as follows...
Popplastic: Argh!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you G'loud, Nadine, Nadine, Nadine, Nadine! G'loud: Smile and make for the safety of the hotel lobby. Popplastic: (to GamblePop) Shall we follow them! Answer: No!
What an exclusive!!! We have seen them all, we have no further objectives for 2008!
Yes following the G'loud Edinburgh Castle concert Popplastic bump into the girls while waiting in taxi rank....
Unfortunately Popplastic weren't in attendance at the castle, though we were listening from the equally exclusive location of the bus stop on The Mound! However Agents PopMaximus and GamblePop were at the castle and reported back an amazing, awesome performance. Highlight being Call the Shots...
Girls Aloud - Call The Shots
Here's a few of our G'loud favourites.....
Girls Aloud - I Think Were Alone Now
Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History
I'm dammed if I do and I'm dammed and if I don't . . .
It's all been a bit credible of late so it's with a great sense of relief that we return to the world proper pop!
BeFour are the most exciting thing to have happened at Popplastic Towers since Leon Jackson won X-Factor in 2007. BeFour are a German reality TV show pop group, the "Four" member are, Dan, Alina, Manou and Angel. The groups first single "Magic Melody" was a cover version of the song "Around The World" by ATC, and we just can't get enough of it!
beFour - Magic Melody
and if that wasn't enough here's their album medley . . .
BeFour - Album Medley
Check out the words in How Do You Do . . . "how do you do, you like me and I like you"....... inspired!
They're a kind of German Steps/Scooch hybrid . . .
All hail the Gods of Pop, Sharleen (Texas) Spiteri's back with a new single and a solo career!
All the Times I Cried is a fantastic 60's inspired single with a splattering of her old Texas sound. It's absolutely fabulous and scores five golden Popplastic disks (the maximum).
Today is. . . . the official Popplastic Celine Dion day 2008, so we thought we'd celebrate with our favourite Celine track, we've even got the words for you!!!!
At Popplastic we don't do football and we certainly don't do Euro (Remote Control at the ready) 2008, but we do do ITV's opening title sequence music for Euro 2008!
Natasha Marsh, who is currently signed to EMI Music, was chosen by ITV Sport to be the voice of their Euro 2008 opening title sequence. She made a special recording of the Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute.

The same music also popped up in the 1989 Melodifestivalen favourite Nattens drottning, (Haakon Pedersen & Elisabeth Berg).
Melodifestivalen 1989 - Melodi nr 9 - Nattens drottning
The only good thing to come out of Euro 2008 . . .
George Sampson's Singin' in the Rain by Mint Royale has stormed to the top of the charts following last Saturday night's final of Britain's Got Talent . . .
Popplastic have been suffering technical difficulties, but had we been online on day 7 Iceland would have been our favourite Eurovision 2008 and track and the song we'd want to take the top spot!
Euroband - This is my life
Obviously our song didn't win anyway due to some shifty chicanery from Russia and the KGB . . .
Day 2, song number 2 in our countdown of Eurovision 2008 hits.
Ruslan Alehno - "Hasta La Vista" Belarus 2008
Belarus's Hasta La Vista is absolutely fabulous, we especially like his clapping technique in this earlier version and the way they entered a song with an identical title to one which the neighbouring Ukraine entered back in 2003.
With only a week to go before the big night, Popplastic's going to be counting down the final days to Eurovision with a countdown of our favourite tracks from this year contest (in no particular order).
First of, we just can't get enough of Switzerland and the Great Soprendo!
Paolo Meneguzzi - Era Stupendo (Switzerland Eurovision 2008)
Geneva 2009!
Naturally our countdown wont include Andy Abraham's, because his song is shit . . .
