Having sat through the entire Eurovision Dance Contest the only stand out feature was the music that accompanied one of the Finnish performances. Originally by Metallica, The Unforgiven has been given a very Finnish makeover.
Apocalyptica is a Finnish group consisting of three, (there was a fourth) classically trained cellists and a drummer. Their speciality is heavy metal music on cellos, it could only happen in Finland!
Following in the footsteps of Take That and the Spice Girls former pop group S Club 7 are set to reunite! Apparently Rachel Stevens is said to be envious of the success of Take That since they reformed last year and the Spice Girls, whose forthcoming reunion tour has generated massive media coverage. Speaking at Vodaphone Music Awards, Rachel said, "Pardon the pun...but bring it all back. We're all still in touch."
S Club were Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo (Don't mention Celeb Big Brother or Shilpa Shetty) O'Meara and Hannah Spearritt. They sold over two million albums during their five year career before splitting in 2004.
Big Brother 2007 house mates, The Twins are set to release their very own version of Aqua's Barbie Girl! The girls have clearly tried to give their own particular take on the song, it's very . . . . pink! They're a kind of English version of the Cheeky Girls, without the cheekiness!
Britney Spears has been charged with hit-and-run and driving without a valid licence and could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted of the misdemeanour charges, more a case of, hit me baby one more time! Well she did say, sometimes I run, sometimes I hide . . .
Yah! Kylie Minogue (Princess of all things Pop) is back with her first new single in two years - "Two Hearts". The track is taken from her tenth album and is scheduled for release on November 5th! Two Hearts was written by British electro-pop band Kish Mauve.
Popplastic are just loving all things Australian at the moment, or at least Australian inspired. We're still playing The Sheilas on continuous repeat but even more exciting Popplastic's top correspondent, Popmaximus (of Lucky Twice fame)recently discovered the "Young Divas" whilst travelling in his ute through the outback!
The Young Divas are an Australian pop group consisting of former Australian Idol contestants with a bit of a thing for 80's pop, they're a kind of Liberty X meets Hazel Dean and Donna Summer. The Young Divas are, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Paulini Curuenavuli, Kate DeAraugo and Emily Williams, Emily was formerly a forklift truck operator in a factory - very Home and Away!
In 2006, the Divas recorded a version of the Donna Summer song This Time I Know It's For Real. The demo proved to be so successful that it was released for airplay in June, 2006 and since then the girls have gone platinum!
Stock Aitken & Waterman are back with The Sheilas of Sheila's Wheels fame and their awesome debut single "I'm so Happy Happy You're Mine". It's the very definition of plastic pop. It's got a bit of the Lucky - Lucky Twice about it and just leaves you wanting more. Infectious pop!
Gimme More is Britney's comeback single. Produced by Justin Timberlake "Gimme More" is more of a dance track than classic Britney plastic pop but it definitely leaves you wanting more.
